Surprising Suffolk & Historic Lavenham

Monday

We depart and make our way to East
Anglia arriving late afternoon at our hotel for the
next 4 nights with dinner, bed & breakfast.Tea/coffee
and biscuits are served on arrival and there will be hotel
entertainment on two evening.

During your stay

• A ride to the medieval village of Lavenham in
the heart of Suffolk with chance to explore
this historic gem, including the famous
Guildhall and streets with delightful timber
framed houses.
• We visit the town of Stowmarket, the home
of the recently created National Museum of
Food which offers a multi-sensory experience
telling the story of society relationship with
food through the ages.
• We head south into Essex and Wilkin’s
Tiptree Jam Museum, tea room and shop
where we enjoy a Cream Tea.
• Visit to Newmarket – Home of Horseracing
where we visit the National Horseracing
Centre and learn all about the history of
‘The Sport of Kings’ and perhaps the Packard
Galleries of Sporting Art.
• Bury St Edmunds with its famous Abbey
Gardens, connections with Dickens and The
Nutshell, reputedly the smallest pub in the
country.

After breakfast we leave for home.
