We depart and make our way to
Retford and our hotel for the next
4 nights with dinner, bed and breakfast.
During your stay
• We visit Bakewell where we have
time to look around the town and
enjoy a coffee break, perhaps with
a slice of Bakewell Tart from the
Original Pudding Shop.
• Chatsworth House, home to the
Duke and Duchess of Devonshire.
Explore over 25 rooms in the house
including the Painted Hall, State
Rooms, and Sculpture Gallery.
• Visit to Newark-on-Trent where it is market day.
• The city of Lincoln with its
magnificent cathedral, and next to
it the Norman Castle. The old town
is a labyrinth of little alleyways and
interesting shops to explore.
• Visit to Sherwood Forest Visitor
Centre. Known throughout the
world as the secret hiding place
of Nottinghamshire’s outlaw hero
Robin Hood, it is also Britain’s
biggest Oak tree the Major Oak!
• Hardwick Hall and Gardens one of
the finest Elizabethan buildings in the country.
