Monday

We depart for the north and our hotel for the next 4 nights with dinner, bed & breakfast.

During your stay

• Embark on a picturesque journey aboard the Teesside Princess, cruising through the tranquil countryside along the twists and turns of the River Tees until we reach Yarm.
• Stroll down a Victorian street in Preston Park, experiencing life as it was in 1895 and stopping by the sweet shop, toy shop, and blacksmiths.
• We journey north to Beamish, the worldfamous living museum of the North where you can step back in time to life in North East England during the 1820s, 1900s, 1940s & 1950s.
• We embark on a delightful journey through Weardale, one of the most dramatic Dales in the country.
• A scenic ride on the newly reopened Weardale Railway. A guide will join us as we journey through railway history beginning with a visit to Head Of Steam, a newly restored centre commemorating 200 years since the first train set off in 1825 (Head of Steam & Locomotion Visitor Centres (NOT MAY, JUNE, JULY DATES) we visit Raby Castle (MAY, JUNE, JULY DATES)
. Next, we head to Shildon and Locomotion - the National Railway Experience, home to many famous locomotives, including the one that hauled the first passenger train.

Friday

After breakfast we depart for home.

The Redworth Hall Hotel, Durham, is a stunning Jacobean House surrounded by landscaped gardens and woodland. It offers a traditional atmosphere with a modern twist. Features include restaurant, bar, lounge and leisure facilities including an indoor swimming pool, gym, spa pool, steam room and solarium. All bedrooms are en suite with television, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel has a lift.
