Gold Autumn Colours of the Lake District

Monday

We depart and make our way to
Cumbria, arriving late afternoon at our hotel for
the next 4 nights stay with dinner, bed and
breakfast.

During your stay

• A visit to the Cumbrian market town of
Kendal, home of the ‘mint cake’ and has
a fine selection of shopping arcades, two
castles, museums and a host of historical
buildings and views.
• A scenic drive north through the Lake District
along Lake Windermere, making a short
stop before continuing on to Ullswater and
Keswick, the capital of the North Lakes area.
• A short stop in the small but very well-known
village of Grasmere.
• An excursion to Bowness, delightfully located
on the shores of Lake Windermere with time
to look around before we catch the ‘steamer’
from Bowness Pier for the relaxing sail to the
southern tip of the lake at Lakeside.
• Genteel Grange-over-Sands, with
spectacular views across Morecambe Bay.
Enjoy a gentle sea front stroll and a look
round before we return to the hotel.

After breakfast we depart for home.
