Don’t “Close Every Door”! After a celebratory revival to mark the 50th anniversary, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will bring the coat of many colours back to the London Palladium in 2020. So, if you want to see an old musical brought to the West End and be the part of the show’s celebration, head on down to the London Palladium to see Joseph.

The show starts way way back many centuries ago, meeting Jacob and his 12 sons. His favourite son has always been Joseph, which continues to anger the others. Pent up with jealousy, the other 11 sell Joseph to slavery. But, his gift of interpreting dreams turns into his saving grace as he finds himself standing alongside the Egyptian Pharaoh. His journey takes him to prison and into the heights of civilisation as he tries to right wrongs and do good.

Illuminating a religious tale, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat has featured dazzling costumes and memorable characters as well as that coat which is listed to have had 29 colours upon it. As part of an abundance of revivals coming to the West End including Mary Poppins, Joseph is sure to be an unmissable show for 2020, so make sure you’ve got your tickets to hear songs including “Close Every Door” and “Any Dream Will Do”.

Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is one of the world’s most beloved family musicals. Released as a concept album in 1969, this multi award winning show has been performed hundreds of thousands of times including multiple runs in the West End and on Broadway, international tours and productions in over 80 countries!

The original Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice collaboration, the show continues to delight huge audiences annually, performed by amateur and schools groups and professionally in concert halls, arenas and theatres around the world. Joseph is a sung-through musical, with 24 songs and ending with a Joseph megamix that you have to hear to believe! The song “Any Dream Will Do” was voted Broadway song of the year in 1981 and is still regarded as a musical theatre classic.

Told entirely through song with the help of the Narrator, the show follows the story of Jacob’s favourite son Joseph and his eleven brothers. After being sold into slavery by the brothers, he ingratiates himself with Egyptian noble Potiphar, but ends up in jail after refusing the advances of Potiphar’s wife.

While imprisoned, Joseph discovers his ability to interpret dreams, and he soon finds himself in front of the mighty but troubled showman, the Pharaoh. As Joseph strives to resolve Egypt’s famine, he becomes Pharaoh’s right-hand man and eventually reunites with his family.
