Christmas concert, Visitor Centre & The Painted Hall

 

With exciting activities for all ages, discover the story of Sir Christopher Wren's riverside masterpiece and those who lived and worked here. You can also enjoy locally sourced quality British food at The Old Brewery.

 

The permanent exhibition houses several historical artifacts. Sir Christopher Wren and Nicholas Hawksmoor's design models of the buildings, presented to the Royal Hospital for Seamen's royal patrons, are housed here, as well as archaeological finds from the old Tudor palace. You can also see naval uniforms and archive footage of the site from the days of the Royal Naval College.

 

Come and enjoy a Christmas concert in the beautiful Chapel of St Peter and St Paul at the Old Royal Naval College, regarded as one of the finest eighteenth-century interiors. Following a brief introduction that sets the scene to this breathtaking chapel, the award-winning Trinity Laban Choir will perform a concert with a chance for you to join in some of your festive favourites. Included in your visit, is entry to the Painted Hall, known as the ‘Sistine Chapel of the UK' with its magnificent painted ceiling and walls of over 40,000 square feet depicting 200 figures including kings, queens and mythological creatures.

 

2pm – 3.20pm Chapel Overview and Christmas Carol Concert in chapel

 

After the concert visit the Painted Hall. Includes the 2024 winter art installation in the Painted Hall: Mars Mars in the Painted Hall - Old Royal Naval College (ornc.org) (You will

have access to rest of site if you wish enjoy the Chocolate House exhibition & Visitor Centre).
