Monday
We depart and make our way to
Cumbria, arriving late afternoon at our hotel for
the next 4 nights with dinner, bed and breakfast
with tea/coffee and biscuits served on arrival.
During your stay
• Visit to Kielder Water and Forest Park then on to Bellingham and
Hexham, dominated by the Abbey overlooking the market square.
• Hadrian’s Wall, stretching some 76 miles from the Tyne to the Solway.
• Enjoy a train journey in Carlisle following the Cumbrian coastline to
Ravenglass where we join the Ravenglass and Eskdale - ‘ La’al Ratty’
steam train in the Lake District National Park.
• We travel to the Yorkshire Dales to Kirkby Lonsdale, and the weekly
market. Then on past Ribblehead Viaduct, through charming Hortonin-Ribblesdale to Settle.
• Enjoy the most spectacular train journey on a main line railway in
the whole of England – the famous Settle to Carlisle line.
