Visits to the ALTON TOWERS Resort are the perfect way to spend a fun-filled day with friends and family!

Alton Towers opened as a theme park on 4th April 1980. The theme park has been open each summer season for almost 40 years!

Inspired by Disneyland, the modern park was designed to be home to multiple, other-worldly spaces, grounded in English Heritage. The theme park opening at Alton Towers included the Corkscrew - Britain’s first double loop rollercoaster - plus the Pirate Ship, Cine 2000 and the Wildlife Museum. For generations now, Alton Towers Resort has offered visitors the chance of a great escape with rides, attractions and entertainment for thrill-seekers, families and kids of all ages!

Alton Towers Resort is home to over 40 rides and attractions, for guests of all ages. Our 10 main rollercoasters are the stars of the show, each with record-breaking elements designed to thrill and delight anyone brave enough to ride. With 20 attractions aimed at young children and families, Alton Towers is the only place in the UK where you can meet some of CBeebies best loved characters.

NEW FOR 2024, venture into Forbidden Valley to encounter this fearsome creature, fury heightened and more uncontrollable than ever before, sending riders through terrifying inversions aboard this intense rollercoaster that leaves thrill-seekers exhilarated. Nemesis Reborn invites the bravest of thrill-seekers amongst the many who visit to take in the awesome power of its unruly domain tackling dominating drops and intense inversions aboard the ride, where control is a mere illusion, the Phalanx have lost all strength and now it’s your turn to encounter this terrifying creature.

The Resort launched the Alton Towers Dungeon (entry extra on the day subject to availability) – a hilariously hideous journey through Staffordshire’s darkest history!  And if that’s not scary enough, thrill-seekers can also experience seven world-class rollercoasters including the latest addition Wicker Man that brings together wood and fire, as well as Nemesis with its iconic twists and turns, Oblivion’s vertical drop and The Smiler’s world-record 14 inversions. The World of David Walliams joined the line-up as the Alton Towers Resort celebrating 40 years as the UK’s leading theme park!
