Sunday
An early start for Dover and the ferry to Calais. On arrival we travel to Laon for our overnight with bed and breakfast.
Monday
After breakfast, we continue our journey to arrive in Schallstadt for the next 4 nights with dinner, bed & breakfast. We arrive to a warm welcome from our hosts.
During your stay
• Enjoy free time in Freiburg, the capital of the Black Forest, to explore one of Germany’s prettiest Old Towns and its magnificent Gothic cathedral.
• We head for the picturesque Alsace town of Colmar to enjoy free time to explore its quaint cobblestone streets lined with halftimbered medieval and early Renaissance buildings. NOTE – This day will require a certain amount of walking as coaches cannot enter the old town of Colmar.
• Enjoy a day at leisure in Basel, exploring its charming Old Town, historic landmarks and famous Christmas Shop. Please note: Passports are required for this excursion.
• Wine tasting at the hotel one afternoon.

Friday
We travel back to Laon for our overnight with bed and breakfast.
Saturday
We head towards Calais for our return ferry crossing to Dover and onward journey back to the West Country

Hotel-Restaurant zum Ochsen Our hotel is in the heart of Germany’s beautiful southern Black Forest area surrounded by wine-growing vineyards and historic towns. Offering a warm and friendly welcome, enjoy comfortable rooms, delicious local cuisine and drinks included in the evening. It’s the perfect base to explore this beautiful area rich in history. All bedrooms are en suite with TV and the hotel has a lift.
