Home to the 12th Duke of Marlborough and his family and the birth place of Sir Winston Churchill, Blenheim Palace is a UNESCO World Heritage Site boasting a long and diverse history. Enter the Palace and explore the gilded State Rooms and priceless collections set against striking stonework, and experience the beauty and magnificence of this Grade I listed building.

 

A true masterpiece of 18th Century Baroque architecture. Discover the beauty of this World Heritage Site amongst over 2000 acres of ‘Capability’ Brown parkland and formal gardens. The exquisite Baroque Palace is surrounded by sweeping lawns, formal gardens and the magnificent Lake.

 

Inside, the scale of the Palace is beautifully balanced by the intricate detail and delicacy of the carvings, the hand painted ceilings and the amazing porcelain collections, tapestries and paintings displayed in each room.

 

The Palace and its Formal Gardens and Park were given World Heritage Site status in 1987 and a great deal of restoration and conservation work has been undertaken in recent years. Your visit makes an important contribution to the on-going restoration and conservation programmes which are necessary to ensure the Palace and its wonderful grounds are preserved for future generations.

 

Special Exhibition: Icons of British Fashion Saturday 23rd March - Sunday 30th June 2024

Blenheim Palace is excited to announce the line-up of world-class designers, fashion houses and labels that will feature in our biggest exhibition to date, “Icons of British Fashion”. The exhibition will celebrate fashion from the past through to the present day and will feature bespoke designs and loans from some huge names in the fashion world. Confirmed names include:

Barbour, Bruce Oldfield, Jean Muir, Lulu Guinness, Stella McCartney, Stephen Jones Millinery for Christian Dior, Temperley London, Terry de Havilland, Turnbull & Asser, Vivienne Westwood and Zandra Rhodes.

Each room along the visitor route pays homage to a British fashion icon. You'll start in the Great Hall and as you travel through the Palace you will be treated to a visually stunning fashion exhibition. We've curated a collection of clothing, accessories, archival materials, drawings, photography, and patterns, seamlessly integrated with the priceless Blenheim collections to provide a fresh and captivating experience.

Blenheim Palace has a rich history in British fashion, having hosted fashion shows, photoshoots, and catwalks attended by high society and royalty. Our Palace is the perfect backdrop to showcase the lasting impact of British fashion on the global stage over the years.
