Sunday
A leisurely drive to Plymouth and the late afternoon sailing for Spain on Brittany Ferries. Cabin accommodation is provided and there is plenty of time to enjoy the restaurants, entertainment and the lovely swimming pool whilst onboard.
Monday
Arriving in Santander in late morning we go ashore and travel the distance to Santona and our hotel for the next 7 nights with dinner, bed and breakfast. The rest of the day is free to relax and settle in.
During your stay
• Picos de Europa. We will stop at the lovely market town of Potes before travelling to Fuente De. Here the courageous can take the cable car ride (extra) to the top of the mountain for some breath-taking views.
• The magnificently preserved village and World Heritage site of Santillana del Mar.
• A free day to enjoy Santona.
• Visit to Comillas and St Vicente de la Barquera.
• The lively city of Bilbao, the capital of the Basque region and more recently, home to the amazing Guggenheim Museum, as famous for its incredible architecture as for its wide range of modern art exhibits.
• We enjoy a visit to Lierganes then onto the Cabarceno Wildlife Park.
Sunday return
A final free day for souvenir shopping or to enjoy the beach.
Monday Return
Leaving Santona after breakfast we travel to Santander to spend the day in this stylish resort before boarding the Port Aven in late afternoon for the return sailing. Cabin berths are again provided.
Tuesday Return
Arriving in Plymouth late afternoon, we disembark and return homewards.
Your Hotel
Hotel Juan de la Cosa is a 4 star hotel located directly on the beach in a residential area of Santona. The spacious ensuite rooms look over the sea or the lagoon and the hotel amenities include a swimming pool, jacuzzi and rooftop club lounge.
This hotel has a lift.
Please note hotel bed tax maybe payable locally in resort at a cost of between 1-5 euros per person per night
